Alice Zenobia Richmond’s mother Tina Fey has appeared in dozen of movies and TV series. She is not only an actor but a comedian, writer, producer, and playwright as well.

When Fey left the long-running skit show to bring 30 Rock to television audiences, Richmond also made his exit to work with his wife on her new comedy. He told The Hollywood Reporter, «On 30 Rock, we would be not necessarily occupying the same creative spaces all the time. She would be writing the script, and then I would be off in another room writing the songs … t was very enjoyable!»
It also ended up being a good career move for Richmond, who not only wrote the show’s theme song, but also took home three Emmy Awards for his work on 30 Rock.

After graduating from college in 1992, Fey moved to Chicago to pursue a career in comedy. She joined the comedy training ground Second City, a renowned program where many Saturday Night Live performers got their start.

Richmond was born in Kilsyth, West Virginia, however, the Second City website notes that he was raised in Portage County, Ohio. It was there that he co-founded the Garrettsville Community Players before moving on to a gig with the Child’s Play Touring Theater while attending Ohio’s Kent State University. In 1985, Richmond graduated from the Kent State’s School of Theatre and Dance, and in 2013, was given an honorary doctorate.

Tina Fey was born Elizabeth Stamatina Fey on May 18, 1970, in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, to parents Donald and Zenobia «Jeanne» Fey. Jeanne worked in a brokerage firm and Donald Fey wrote grants for the University of Pennsylvania.

«I know how she feels about some things,» Richmond, who lives in Manhattan with Fey, said. «Like, we never had to deal with any of this, but: adultery. Just looking at examples from other people’s lives, we know that anything like that, messing around, is just such a complete ‘No’ to her. And she has her principles and she sticks to her principles more than anybody I’ve ever met in my life. Like that whole idea of, if you are in a relationship, there are deal breakers. There’s not a lot of gray area in being flirty with somebody. She’s very black-and-white: ‘We’re married—you can’t.'»
And Fey seems pretty happy with her good-guy husband: «I don’t have that kind of ‘I love the bad guys’ thing. No, no thank you. I like nice people.»
Richmond also told V.F. that he’s also a fan of the distinctive scar on Fey’s face, which she got from a cutting attack by a stranger when she was 5.
«That scar was fascinating to me,» Richmond said. «This is somebody who, no matter what it was, has gone through something. And I think it really informs the way she thinks about her life. When you have that kind of thing happen to you, that makes you scared of certain things, that makes you frightened of different things, your comedy comes out in a different kind of way, and it also makes you feel for people.»
