Soon after graduating, Tessa relocated to Seoul, Korea, where she studied the intricacies of creating a range of videos, including music videos, stories, and skits. She then relocated to New York City in 2009. Her popularity as a YouTuber had dwindled by that point. The same year, she won $100,000 in a YouTubers contest for the most commented video.
In contrast, in 2010, she collaborated with ‘Creator Studios’ to create two videos, namely ‘Star Trek Girl’ and ‘Wizard Love-feat. Heyhihello.’

Both of these videos became viral on the internet, cementing Violet’s image as a popular YouTuber and vocalist. She began her musical career in 2008 by using her YouTube channel as a website. She debuted her first extension play, ‘Days of,’ in 2012. Seth Earnest produced the song, which addressed issues such as passion, anxiety, codependency, and self-worth.

Following the success of ‘Maybe Trapped Mostly Troubled,’ she embarked on a number of tours, including ‘The Living Room Tour,’ which starred Rusty Clanton. The tour took them to nine different sites, where they performed live in the living rooms of unknown fans. In July 2015, Sarah and Rusty embarked on the ‘Return of the Living Room Tour,’ touring the western half of the United States. In 2016, she played on ‘The TransAtlantic Tour,’ alongside musicians such as Jon Cozart, Dodie Clark, and Rusty Clanton. She also toured the UK with fellow YouTuber and vocalist Bry O’Reilly. On July 16th, 2006, Tessa Violet launched a YouTube channel under nickname Meekakitty, posting her first video in 2017 for her senior project in high school. By July 2010, Meekakitty’s channel, where she mainly posted stories, skits and music videos, had over 440,000 subscribers with over 6.4 million views.

Between 2010 and 2012 Meekakitty posted several highly successful lip-syncing videos and fan-made music clips. In comments, мемы для русских subscribers speculated that the community admin chose to force the meme due to the personal affection for the musician. In one comment, the community admin hinted that Tessa Violet wearing Mishka/Мишка-branded pullover was one of the reasons for the force.

On January 8, 2019, YouTube user Пикрил П.К. uploaded an edited version of Tessa Violet’s “Crush” music video with “Русские, вперед!” chanting added over the chorus (shown below, left). The video gained over 45,000 views in one week. On the same day, YouTuber D.C.Prod uploaded a remix of Tessa Violet’s “Bad Ideas” music video edited in a similar fashion. Ведь это так приятно — еще раз проникнуть в эти пышные синтезаторные формы, ощутить запах ночного города и вкус реальной человеческой фасоли. Электрическая молодость прекрасно знает, как доставить нам удовольствие, и мы ей за это благодарны.
