История создания и состав группы Sleeping with Sirens

История рок-коллектива берёт своё начало с 2009 года. Каждый, кто вошёл в состав коллектива, уже имел значительный опыт работы на сцене. У истоков группы Sleeping with Sirens стоят бывшие солисты групп Broadway и Paddock Park.

Новый коллектив возглавил Брайан Колзини. Позже к нему присоединился Ник Тромбино. На первом этапе творчества группа также состояла из басиста Пола Рассела, ударника Алекса Колоджана, гитаристов Дэйва Агулиара и Брэндона Макмастера.

On writing lyrics

“I get some comments about that are just funny. One of them was, ‘Kellin Quinn has the vocabulary of a 12-year-old girl’. A lot of people don’t understand. But for me, it’s always been important to write straight up about what I’m feeling. You don’t have to search hard for the meaning, it’s not covered in symbolism or different words or big words. The most important thing is to put out exactly what I’m saying. The people that are into this band will always know that – and I don’t really give a fuck what the other people think. In our realm of music there are people who are uncomfortable with telling it like it is. We feel that, as artists, we should say what we want to say so we’re putting things out there. In the songs Congratulations I sing, ‘We’re sick of all this so-called shitty music that you play, could you please do us a favour and stay out of way’. That’s basically a call-out to some of the music that’s coming out – there’s so much bullshit music that’s written to make money. It’s never been about money for us, it’s about being part of the web of music and doing something different.”

Career

Before joining Sleeping with Sirens, Kellin Quinn was a musician with For All We Know , Closer to Closure , Our Name in City Lights and Screenplay . With For All We Know he recorded We’re About to Change in 2007 . He also has his own line of clothing called Anthem Made . He is known for his singing, which is very reminiscent of Anthony Green of Circa Survive .

Kellin Quinn joined the band in 2009 shortly after forming Sleeping with Sirens. The actual singer, Brian Calzini , left this in the same year, so Quinn took over the post of lead singer. Together with Sleeping with Sirens he recorded four albums, a live album and an EP, all of which were released on the US label Rise Records except for the Madness released in 2015 and the live album released a year later .

He has also toured several times with his band through North America (especially the USA ), Europe (as support for A Skylit Drive ) and Southeast Asia . In March 2013, the group toured five major cities in Australia for the first time . This concert tour took place as part of the Soundwave Festival . In May, the band also headlined the UK , Germany , Belgium and the Netherlands for the first time . An extensive European tour follows in September to promote their third studio album.

In 2012, Quinn was named Singer of the Year by Alternative Press readers . Several fans suggested Kellin Quinn for a Shorty Award . He was in the Hottest Male category at the Kerrang! Awards nominated. The award ceremony took place on June 13, 2013. However, the award went to Ben Bruce from Asking Alexandria .

Kellin Quinn was often heard as a guest musician in other bands. Controversy

On the evening of August 5, 2013, Kellin Quinn announced a special pre-sale package for the “The Feel This” tour, which gave fans the opportunity to take a signed photo and a short interview with him, a double-sided poster of the Band, as well as a book signing of the band. However, the retail price is $ 80. Several well-known musicians such as Oliver Sykes ( Bring Me the Horizon ), Brian Calzini ( We Are Defiance ), Beau Bokan and Elliot Gruenberg (both Blessthefall ) made ironic and condescending comments about this action. But I’m not, like, thinking, ‘Man, I’ve got a gift,’ like the sword in the stone or something, pulling out some golden sword. For me, it’s just that something works in what we do. The songs keep coming, and the fans keep coming to shows. That’s a blessing. And as long as that keeps happening, we’ll keep doing what we’re doing.»

He is open about mental health in his music and with fans. He admitted that he wished the band took a break instead of creating their 2017 album, Gossip. He continued, «There are always ‘what ifs,’ but we can only focus on the now, on the present, especially because of the way art and music is right now. You tour to make a living because that’s how bands survive. I was definitely tired and stuff, but I really think it’s important to hold on to the value of real life, because you can get real fucked up in your brain if you don’t.»

He talked about alcohol consumption in an interview, which he decided to quit around the recording of the 2019 album, How It Feels to Be Lost. He explained, «It was tough. And I’m not saying that quitting drinking solves all your problems. But one thing that stopping drinking does is it stops the excuses for you to not take hold of your life. I think we can all find things to occupy ourselves to where we don’t address the real situations at all, and drinking for me was a way to escape the shit. I realized that I wasn’t going to get better unless I quit, and so I did. It’s a challenge, but it’s a good challenge—I’m in my 30s now, and I realized that I can choose the version of myself that I want to be.»

Tours

Sleeping with Sirens are one of the few groups that also accommodate acoustic sets during their performances. According to Kellin Quinn, the group played their acoustic pieces at first concerts mainly from their main set.

So far, Sleeping with Sirens has made several appearances in North America , Europe and Southeast Asia . In March 2013 the group will tour Australia ( Soundwave Festival ) for the first time . Private

Quinn has been married since April 2013 and has a daughter named Copeland, who was born in May 2012. He is friends with Vic Fuentes from Pierce the Veil . On November 28, 2012, several newspapers reported that Quinn was killed in an accident. The first magazine reported that he was fatally injured in a jet ski accident off the Turks and Caicos Islands . A second magazine wrote that Quinn was killed in a car accident on Route 80 between Morristown and Roswell. On , he announced that he was alive and well.

In May 2013, the organization Friends Are By Your Side , which was founded to fulfill their dearest wish for seriously ill children, published an action for Marie Sowler. She suffered from leukemia and only had a few days to live. Her wish was to meet Kellin Quinn. Формирование и With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear (2009—2010)

«With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear» был дебютным альбомом группы, выпущенным 23 марта 2010 года под лейблом Rise Records. Career

Despite Quinn being famous for his role in the Sleeping with Sirens band, he has previously been a member of other bands. He was a member of the band Closer 2 Closure before joining his present band group called Sleeping with Sirens.

He’s also performed with bands, including a few named For All We Know, Our Name in Citylights, and another one named Screenplay. His career started when he entered the band Sleeping with Sirens with his fellow friends named Jack Fowler, Justin Hills, and Gabe Barham, and travelled the world with his friends.

He was called singer of the year in the year 2012 by the members of media named Alternative Press. He had also been shortlisted for ‘hottest guy at the prestigious Kerrang! Awards.

In addition to being a phenomenal performer, Kellin does have his fashion brand, Anthem Made, for which his spouse displays as a model. He continues to rise to dizzying achievements for each successive day, and his adaptability is a big factor for his accomplishment.

Each rock lover would believe that Kellin Quinn is best described by the word versatility due to his skill in multiple sections. He is an all-arounder who excels as a pianist, singer, composer, and frontman.

He has also been likened to several renowned composers who have made an indelible influence on the international electronic music scene. Kellin is said to have the speaking voice of Tenor Leggero, and his accent is said to be similar to Anthony Green from Circa Survive.

Kellin’s foray into the realm of apparel, with his brand named Anthem Made, has only demonstrated that his talents and aptitude aren’t restricted to musicians. He is practically synonymous with the tagging word “multi-talented!”
