Richard Purser
One of the earliest relationships the actress was involved in was with a man named Richard Purser. The exact details of the relationship are not public knowledge but it probably took place in the ’90s.
Paolo Kappella (1998 – 1999)
Kappella is relatively unknown in the public space and so was his relationship with Shannyn. The duo, however, dated in the late 1990s.
Shannyn Sossamon and Dallas Clayton dated from 2002 to 2004
Probably her longest relationship so far, the actress and children’s book illustrator and author Dallas Clayton met in the early 2000s and began dating. The relationship lasted from 2002 to 2004 but didn’t end without producing a child, a son they welcomed on May 29, 2003.
André 3000 (2003)
It was a brief affair that started and ended the same year. André moved on to date other women but the last time he surfaced on the dating scene was in 2008 with Tiffany Limos.
Joaquin Phoenix (2005 – 2006)
Phoenix is one of the men Shannyn was rumored to have dated but there’s no confirmation of that to date. The relationship allegedly started in 2005 and ended the next year. Both parties have apparently moved on with their love lives and Joaquin Phoenix got engaged to Rooney Mara on 21st Jul 2019.
Eugene Goreshter (2006)
Eugene Goreshter is reportedly single but he was in a relationship with Shannyn Sossamon in 2006. The reason for their breakup is not known.
Tygh Runyan (2010)
Following the end of his marriage with Sarah Lind (2008 – 2010), Tygh went into a relationship with Shannyn that lasted just a couple of months – August 2010 to October 2010.
Roles in TV series
Shannyn’s debut TV series role was playing Fashion Model in three episodes of the 1997 comedy “Mr. Show with Bob and David”, and her following role came in 2004, when cast to play Myra Denning in the crime mystery “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”.
In 2013, she played Alex in the romantic thriller “Mistresses”, created by K. J. Steinberg, and which starred Rochelle Aytes, Jes Macallan and Alyssa Milano. It follows the lives of four girlfriends, and the series won a People’s Choice Award for Most Popular Foreign Drama of the Year at the 2013 Seoul International Drama Awards.
Shannyn’s three most recent TV series roles have been in the 2014 episode “Chapter 7: The Ringing of the Bell” of the short animated adventure “Over the Garden Wall” (voice role), 18 episodes of the 2016 action crime adventure “Sleepy Hollow” and 14 episodes of the 2016 science fiction mystery “Wayward Pines”.

Shannyn Sossamon’s Childhood
After arriving to Los Angeles in 1995, Shannyn Sossamon began working as a DJ, securing gigs in local clubs and performance venues.
Sossamon had no intention of becoming a professional dancer while pursuing a dancing career, recalling: “It was more of a case of “I just like doing this.” I wasn’t sure what I wanted, but that didn’t bother me. I’d never had to use a strategy before. I’m really skilled at making you feel secure in the uncharted territory of life planning “.
Around this time, the artist launched her modeling career, working for brands such as Sassy Magazine, Unionbay Clothing, American Eagle Outfitters, and Planned Parenthood.
She appeared in two Gap commercials, as well as music videos for Daft Punk, The Goo Goo Dolls, Cher, DJ Quik, and 9xdead.
Sossamon starred as numerous characters in three episodes of Mr. Show with Bob and David in 1997, and two years later, she was spotted by casting director Francine Maisler while aiding a fellow DJ at Gwyneth Paltrow’s brother’s birthday party.
The actress gradually started earning positive reviews for her films, and her her career began to take off.
